This in-person course teaches core Building Science Principles. This non-technical BPI certificate is the first step toward understanding and improving whole-house building performance and is now a prerequisite course for more advanced BPI certifications.

BPI Building Science Principles

The Building Science Principles course demonstrates how various components of the home interact to affect the home’s overall performance. Understand the relationship between the building enclosure, heating, AC, insulation, mechanical ventilation, lighting, appliances, and other home systems. Learn how all of these systems affect comfort, health & safety of occupants, and the home’s durability. This non-technical BPI certificate is the first step toward understanding and improving whole-house building performance and is now a prerequisite course for more advanced BPI certifications. It is perfect for salespeople, admin personnel, architects, or anyone who needs to know about building science, but may never need to perform home diagnostic testing.
