RESNET Professional Development Courses

Earn RESNET-approved Professional Development Hours from approved courses offered by RESNET Training Providers. BER offers a variety of online courses to obtain the necessary hours for RESNET recertification.
Certified HERS Rater are certified for a period of 3 years at a time. Within this 3-year period, Raters must meet the professional development requirements for recertification. To meet these requirements, Raters must complete one of the following options:
- Attendance at a RESNET Building Performance Conference
- Earn 18 RESNET-approved Professional Development Hours (PDHs) from approved courses offered by RESNET Training Providers
The most common way for raters to qualify for re-certification is through obtaining 18 hours of professional development training approved by RESNET. BER offers a variety of online courses to obtain the necessary hours.

This course trains students to be Certified Home Energy Raters (HERS Raters), teaches the basics of Home Energy Ratings, and prepares you for the RESNET national rater and practical simulation exams. It also includes RESNET Combustion Safety and Workscope Training to prepare you for the RESNET national CAZ (Combustion Appliance Zone) Testing exam and practical simulation exam.
