Call for Proposals, June-September: Open call for session proposals. The proposal deadline was September 16, 11:59 p.m. PT.

The proposal review process consists of proposal evaluations by over 100 volunteers, then evaluated by the Program Committee and Committee Working Groups. This process results in the final educational program:

• Round One, September: Volunteers review and rate all proposals on a quantitative scale using the rubric below.
• Round Two, October: Proposals reviews are complied and evaluated, assigned to working groups, and recommendations made for proposals to advance to the next round.
• Round Three, October–November: Topic area working groups meet to discuss and make recommendations for proposals to include in draft agenda for the Program Committee.
• Round Four, November–December: Program Committee determines the final education program.
• Final decisions made, December-January: Session notifications are sent by January 6.
• Sessions scheduled, late January: Selected presenters are notified of their presentation date and time.

• A well-written, clear abstract will enhance your proposal submission. The Review and Program Committees evaluate proposals based solely on the information provided. Proposals that include as much information as possible with well-defined goals and learning objectives are more highly rated.
• Product pitches are not permitted. During sessions, attendees do not want to feel like they’re being sold on a particular product or service. All conference sessions must be educational in nature, unbiased, and avoid direct or indirect promotion of any particular product or service.
• Special consideration will be given to session proposals that offer new material, not previously presented at past BPA conferences or other venues.
• BPA is committed to advancing the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our volunteer working groups and committees strive to develop a program that truly represents our diverse industry. We encourage you to consider how your proposal reflects or addresses diversity, equity, and inclusion of presenters and attendees, including demographic backgrounds, age, race, and gender identities.
• Similarly, we are eager to expand our community of presenters by encouraging and supporting new voices and encourage first-time presenters to submit a proposal and share their ideas and experiences.
• Presenters receive a discount off the full-conference registration price. BPA does not provide presenter honoraria.

BPA solicits session proposals from interested presenters, which are then evaluated by volunteer reviewers. Combining the input of peers and program committee volunteers helps to ensure that the members of the home performance and weatherization community have a significant voice in co-creating conference programs.

Review Scoring System
All session proposals will be reviewed and scored by a team of volunteer reviewers using a 5-point scale. These rankings will be used by the Program Committees to select presenters and sessions for the final program. Proposals will be rated using the following criteria:

1. Relevance: The proposed presentation would be important, appropriate, and provide either timely and new OR fundamental and necessary information for conference attendees.
2. Quality: The proposed session provides attendees with high-quality information and replicable content.
3. Clarity: The proposal topics and objectives are clear, relevant, and useful to the audience.
4. Presenter(s): The proposal (bio, references, etc.) implies that the presenter(s) has/have an appropriate level of expertise to deliver a high-quality session.
5. Inspiration: The proposed panel would offer lessons, tools, and, whenever possible, regionally or culturally diverse perspectives, that participants can bring back to their institution, organization, or community.
6. I would recommend this session to be included in 2025 National Conference agenda.
