Maine: Tell Sen. Collins to Support Maine Jobs and Protect the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Tax Credit
June 6, 2025
On May 22, the U.S. House of Representatives voted to eliminate the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement tax credit. If enacted, the proposal would terminate 25C eligibility for any property placed in service after the end of 2025.
The Senate is now considering the proposal, and Senator Susan Collins (R-ME) is a key swing vote. Tell Senator Collins: the 25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement tax credit helps Maine businesses, and it saves Mainers money – please keep the credit in place as enacted!

In 2023, 18,400 Mainers filed for 25C and received a total of $21.71M in credits – an average credit per household of $1,179. Eliminating 25C will increase Mainers’ upfront home energy costs and hurt Maine home performance contractor companies.
Add your name now to urge Senator Collins to protect Maine’s families and jobs and save the 25C tax credit.
