
James Metoyer
James Metoyer, Executive Director of the Oregon-based nonprofit EnerCity Collaborative (ECC), works with youth and adult construction-training programs, community-based organizations, and other nonprofits to help professionals find careers in weatherization, residential energy auditing, deep-energy retrofitting, and to ensure that Black and underrepresented communities have equitable access to healthy, sustainable, and energy-efficient housing.
James is also the owner of Advanced Energy Inspections, a residential energy auditing company, where he helps homeowners make the most informed decisions about creating healthier homes, decreasing their energy burden, increasing their comfort, and saving money on their energy bills.
James has earned several industry-recognized credentials, including Building Performance Institute (BPI), Performance Tested Comfort Systems (PTCS), Sustainable Homes Professional (SHP), Home Energy Score Assessor, HERS Rater, and LEED Green Rater.
A son of the Cane River Créole community of Isle Brevelle, La., with almost 20 years of experience working in energy efficiency, his passions include teaching students about energy efficiency and bridging the gap between the medical industry and the built environment to create healthy outcomes.
