The Building Performance Association (BPA) is looking for a new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organization into its next chapter of growth. The BPA Board of Directors has officially launched a national search following a planned leadership transition, and is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader ready to help shape the future of the residential energy efficiency and home performance industry.
“As demand grows for the work our industry does to make homes more efficient and healthy, BPA’s role only becomes more important,” said Dr. Janell Hills-Thomas, Chair of the BPA Board of Directors. “We’re looking for a leader who’s energized by our mission and ready to help us scale our impact across the industry.”
The CEO will work closely with the Board of Directors, key staff, and critical stakeholder groups to drive BPA’s strategic direction and long-term growth.
BPA is a membership-based industry association that was formed in 2018 through the merger of three established residential-sector organizations (Efficiency First, Home Energy Magazine, and the Home Performance Coalition). Its mission is to strengthen the residential energy efficiency and home performance industry, supporting the contractors, program implementers, utilities, nonprofits, government agencies, training centers, and manufacturers and distributors that make up the sector. BPA’s vision is a future where all buildings provide an energy efficient, comfortable, healthy, and safe environment.
The ideal candidate brings CEO-level or senior management experience, ideally with a track record of leading a start-up or growing organization. Knowledge of the construction or energy efficiency/home performance industry is preferred. The role also calls for someone with a passion for working in a member-driven environment.
The CEO will oversee BPA’s administration, finances, programs, and strategic plan, while leading fundraising and outreach to the home performance industry and key stakeholders. The position reports directly to the Board of Directors. For more information on the CEO position, view the full job description and application details here.
