BPA Welcomes Robin Yochum, New State Outreach Coordinator
May 19, 2023
The Building Performance Association (BPA) is proud to announce the appointment of Robin Yochum as the newest State Outreach Coordinator. Robin joins a growing state outreach team at BPA who are working to ensure that contracting business and weatherization agencies have access to the workforce development resources in their state—and that the state’s broader workforce development and career counseling efforts are inclusive of our industry.
Robin is based in Nevada and has more than 20 years of experience in the residential and commercial construction industry. Prior to this role, Robin worked at Nevada’s State Energy Office where she worked extensively on advancing energy efficiency policies and programs.
More specifically, her expertise is in advancing energy efficiency and state and local climate policies to achieve carbon emission reductions. She has dedicated the most recent chapter of her career to clean energy policies, advancing sustainable practices through federal funding opportunities and state-led initiatives while educating stakeholders on the importance of building energy codes, performance contracting, energy audits and upgrades and overall sustainable practices.
“In my role at BPA, I am excited to work with the state energy offices on implementing Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act funding by identifying new and existing career paths for advancement within the construction industry,” she says. As a previous state employee, Robin intimately understands the challenges each state faces in implementing these funds. “I’m thrilled to be representing BPA, which has ready-made solutions to overcoming some of those challenges,” she says.
Additionally, Robin looks forward to working collectively to create opportunities for underserved and underrepresented populations to pursue careers in the energy efficiency industry. “I look forward to collaborating with an amazing group of individuals to lead the charge in equipping the home and building performance and energy efficiency industry with a high-quality, skilled workforce,” she says.
