Energy Efficiency Apprenticeships in Massachusetts
The Building Performance Association (BPA) provides growth opportunities for businesses and job seekers through Registered Apprenticeship Programs.
BPA will launch a pilot Registered Apprenticeship Program in Massachusetts in early 2026. The program supports businesses in recruiting and upskilling employees while providing paid job opportunities and nationally recognized credentials for those entering the energy efficiency field.
This program offers pathways to careers as an Energy Specialist (energy auditor, energy advisor, energy rater, etc.) and/or a Home Performance Laborer (weatherization or retrofit installer).
What is a Registered Apprenticeship Program?
A Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP) is an industry-driven, high-quality career pathway where employers can develop and prepare their future workforce, and individuals can obtain paid work experience and a nationally recognized credential.
RAPs are validated to meet the standards defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and a State Apprenticeship Agency.
