ACEEE: Programs to Promote Zero-Energy and Zero-Carbon New Homes and Buildings

Download

Overview

ACEEE released a white paper listing programs advancing zero-energy, zero-carbon, or zero-energy-ready buildings.

Constructing new homes and buildings that use minimal energy—and have low- to no emissions—is critical to reducing U.S. greenhouse gas emissions. ACEEE’s white paper identifies, discusses, and synthesizes lessons learned from 22 programs advancing zero-energy, zero-carbon, or zero-energy-ready buildings, including 14 residential and 8 commercial programs. These programs are helping builders and designers to construct growing numbers of new homes and buildings that can produce at least as much energy as they consume or be modified to do so in the future.
