Pennsylvania PUC Denies Energy Efficiency Program Shutdown
November 2, 2020
The BPA petition against the attempts by the Industrial Energy Consumers of Pennsylvania to shut down funding for and the implementation of energy efficiency programs in Pennsylvania was a success!
BPA filed the stakeholder signed petition on June 18, 2020. The petition helped to strengthen legal arguments and comments BPA had filed with partner organizations on May 12, 2020.
The Pennsylvania Public Utilities Commission issued an Order on October 29, 2020, which responded to our P\petition and denied the request of the Industrial Energy Consumers to shut down energy efficiency programs.
In dismissing the case, the PA PUC Order also cited our petition (on page 3 and page 12 of the Order) and highlighted arguments for protecting and funding energy efficiency programs in Pennsylvania.
We thank all of our supports in Pennsylvania for signing the petition. The PA PUC agreed with you and your voices were heard!
