BPA Board of Directors Announces Planned Leadership Transition
June 12, 2026
The Building Performance Association (BPA) Board of Directors announces a planned leadership transition as part of the organization’s continued commitment to strategic growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
After thoughtful discussion and careful consideration, the Board and CEO, Steve Skodak, have aligned on a transition plan that supports the future direction of the organization while honoring the contributions and leadership provided during his tenure. Steve’s leadership over the past six years has helped guide BPA through important periods of growth and industry advancement, and the Board expresses its appreciation for his service and dedication to the mission of the organization.
As BPA continues to evolve alongside the changing needs of the industry, the Board believes this transition presents an opportunity to build upon the organization’s strong foundation while positioning BPA for its next chapter of leadership and impact.
To support this process, the Board will initiate a formal CEO search focused on identifying a visionary and collaborative leader who can continue advancing BPA’s mission, strengthen industry partnerships, and guide the organization into the future.
Steve will continue supporting the organization during the transition period to help ensure continuity and stability for members, partners, staff, and stakeholders. The Board remains deeply committed to transparency, thoughtful governance, and the long-term success of BPA and the communities the organization serves.
