New CEO Brings Proven Record in Association Growth and Management
March 9, 2020 – Building Performance Association (BPA) announced today that its Board of Directors has appointed Steve Skodak as the new Chief Executive Officer of the association. He will assume day-to-day leadership of the association under the direction of the Board of Directors. Keith Aldridge, who served as interim Chief Executive Officer, will step down effective immediately.
Speaking on behalf of the Board of Directors, Sydney Roberts, Chair, said, “I am pleased to welcome Steve Skodak to the team as our first permanent Chief Executive Officer. Steve brings decades of success building outstanding organizations with thriving memberships, strong stakeholder partnerships, and exemplary staff. I would also like to thank Keith Aldridge who guided the association through the mergers, launch, and startup phases as interim CEO. Keith’s vision and passion inspires us all.”
Prior to joining BPA, Skodak was Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Painting Contractors Association where he led efforts to modernize the association and restore financial stability. Before that, he held successive executive positions with the YMCA, Optimist International Foundation, and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.
“I am excited to join the team at Building Performance Association and look forward to working with our stakeholders to advance the industry in the coming months and years,” said Skodak. “Our industry is poised to make significant strides, and I am optimistic about our ability to work collaboratively with industry leaders, members, volunteers, and those who work tirelessly to advance the benefits of building performance.”
Skodak plans to enhance the association’s educational resources and develop a strong and diverse workforce by elevating industry best practices, increasing training and skills development, and connecting employers to top-quality personnel.
Skodak holds a bachelor’s in communications and marketing from Missouri State University and is a Certified Association Executive and Certified Fundraising Executive. He has served on several organizational boards and volunteer panels, including the Saint Louis Council of Charitable Gift Planners and United Way.
