Faces of EE: The People Behind Energy Efficiency Careers

August 20, 2024

The Building Performance Association (BPA) is excited to announce the refreshed launch of Faces of EE, a project dedicated to showcasing the diverse and dynamic world of energy efficiency careers.

As a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the energy efficiency industry through education, workforce development, and advocacy, BPA is proud to lead this initiative.

What is “Faces of EE”?

Faces of EE (Faces of Energy Efficiency) is an awareness campaign designed to turn statistics into impact by highlighting the individuals behind the 2.2 million energy efficiency jobs in the United States.

The campaign illustrates the personal stories and passions of energy efficiency workers, bringing life to the real-world impact of energy efficiency. From energy auditors and building analysts to HVAC technicians and sustainability consultants, these individuals are at the forefront of innovation, driving positive change in both the economy and the environment.

The energy efficiency industry is crucial for building a sustainable future for America’s households. It not only helps reduce energy consumption and lower utility bills for households and businesses, but also strengthens the economy through job creation.

Faces of EE also aims to inform lawmakers and legislators about the significant role energy efficiency plays in their communities, highlighting that these jobs and funding are crucial to advancing the industry and its lasting impact.

The Goal of Faces of EE

The refreshed Faces of EE campaign under BPA comes with a new look and renewed commitment to fostering community building and empowerment among energy efficiency professionals. This initiative will achieve three main goals:

  • Raise Awareness: Highlight the broad spectrum of roles, backgrounds, and experiences within energy efficiency careers.
  • Educate: Provide insights into various energy efficiency jobs, from energy auditors to building analysts.
  • Empower: Build a sense of community among energy efficiency workers by celebrating their contributions and inspiring new talent to join this essential industry.

The History of Faces of EE

E4TheFuture launched Faces of EE in 2017 to educate decision makers about the U.S. EE industry and policy approaches that create lasting benefits for all Americans. For the first time since its launch, BPA is taking over Faces of EE and is excited to partner with E4TheFuture on this project.
