FY2027 Appropriations Are Underway. Our Industry Needs to Be Heard Again.
March 5, 2026
Thanks to our advocacy, we secured increased funding for home performance in Fiscal Year 2026. Now, Congress has begun its annual appropriations process for Fiscal Year 2027. Funding for several key federal programs that support our industry—including the Residential Buildings Integration Program (RBI), Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP), and State Energy Program (SEP)—are under discussion.
YOUR support can help to ensure these programs receive needed funding increases to continue, extend, and expand their important work in the upcoming fiscal year.
- Residential Buildings Integration (RBI): Supporting RBI’s work to invest in America’s home performance workforce will pay dividends many times over – supporting quality, U.S. jobs through home efficiency research, pilot projects, and training for our workforce that helps Americans save money, improve energy security, and live and work in safe and comfortable buildings.
- Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP): Increased funding for WAP, including the Weatherization Readiness Fund and Training & Technical Assistance, will help the program reach more households and expand our workforce.
- State Energy Program (SEP): Increased funding to support State Energy Offices.
- U.S. Energy & Employment Report (USEER): Funding for DOE to continue to catalogue energy efficiency jobs as a vital segment of the U.S. energy sector.
Please join us to urge congressional leaders to support the home performance industry through these critical federal programs. Adding your name to the letter below is a quick, easy, and effective way to ensure our industry isn’t left behind (view letter text here.)
