Defend State Contractor Training Grants and Home Energy Rebates

February 23, 2026

This week, the U.S. House of Representatives plans to vote on a proposal to repeal the $200M State-Based Energy Efficiency Contractor Training Grants, $4.5B State High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate Program, and $1B Assistance for Building Energy Code Adoption. If enacted, the proposal would eliminate unspent funding for all three programs, pushing the costs of more efficient upgrades out of reach for low-income households and curbing project availability for energy efficiency contractors. Repealing contractor training grant funding would eliminate sorely needed workforce development dollars for our industry, including funds for on-the-job training.

Please email your Representative’s office today and ask them to vote no on this legislation.
