BPA State Updates
Kentucky – Kentucky BPA will host an in-person Energy Efficiency Meeting on March 7, 2024. Weatherization agencies, contractors, and businesses and their employees are welcome to join us for a full day of networking and informative discussions in Lexington, KY. You are eligible to receive 2 hours of BPI-approved CEUs by attending this meeting. This event is free and lunch will be provided. Learn more and register.
Maine – Maine BPA invites Maine residents to two special events in March. Firstly, we have partnered with MaineHousing to provide a full-day course with the option to take the Building Science Principles Certificate of Knowledge exam on Monday, March 4. The class and exam are being offered FREE for members of the MaineHousing WAP network and BPA network. The class has limited space, so register now.
Secondly, Maine BPA will host a webinar on Energy Efficiency Registered Apprenticeships on March 14 at 12 PM EST. This webinar is for weatherization agencies, energy efficiency businesses, and individuals interested in the field of energy efficiency. Learn more and register.

California – Efficiency First California (EFCA) created the Clean Energy Connection (CEC), an online contractor directory tool that provides free leads to contractors providing carbon-free solutions. Click here to learn more about the CEC and how clean energy contractors can get involved.

Illinois – The Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity has shared details of the Notice of Funding Opportunity for the Equitable Energy Future Grant Program. Learn more and view resources for the application.
Michigan – Mark your calendars for the 2024 Michigan Healthy Climate Conference at the Lansing Center. The conference, hosted by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, will be held May 16-17, 2024. Register here.
Oregon – Join the Oregon Department of Energy on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at 3PM online for a planning update on Oregon’s potential Home Energy Rebate Programs. Learn more here.
A new study by the Oregon Department of Energy shows that Oregonians do not have adequate cooling equipment at home and face significant health and safety risks during extreme heat waves. Learn more here.
Virginia – The Association of Energy Conservation Professionals and CHP Energy Solutions Research & Training are accepting nominations for the 2024 John Langford Memorial Award. The scholarship winner will receive a $500 gift card which may be used in any way they choose. Learn more and access the application.
A lawsuit appealing Virginia’s removal from a regional carbon market will be allowed to proceed, a court ruled earlier this month. Read the update from WHRO.
National Industry News
U.S. Department of Labor – The Biden-Harris Administration has announced nearly $200 million available in grants to expand registered apprenticeships. Grants prioritize education, care, clean energy, IT, supply chain, and other in-demand industries. Read more.
U.S. Department of Energy – The DOE has released new resources to help state and territorial energy offices apply for and implement the Home Energy Rebates. Learn more.
U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development – The Green and Resilient Retrofit Program (GRRP) provides funding for direct loans and grants to fund projects that improve energy or water efficiency, enhance indoor air quality or sustainability, implement the use of zero-emission electricity generation, low-emission building materials or processes, energy storage, or building electrification strategies, or address climate resilience, of eligible HUD-assisted multifamily properties.
